1996+ Ford Explorer Air Intakes

About 1996+ Ford Explorer Air Intakes

Looking for air intakes for your Ford Explorer? That's all that's here, so nothing below is going to waste your time. Tell us the year and the trim and you'll see only what fits yours, back to 1996. It comes down to the year and engine, which is what the fit check is looking at.

An intake changes two things you'll notice pulling out of the driveway. The sound, because the factory box was built to keep the engine quiet, and the throttle, because a smoother path lets it breathe sooner. Gains on a naturally aspirated car are small without a tune. On a turbo car the intake is the first restriction the compressor pulls through, so a good kit and a tune together do real work.

Common questions

Will these air intakes fit my Ford Explorer?

Each one of these was made for it, so you aren't sorting past parts for somebody else's car. Tell us the year and the trim and you'll see only the intakes that fit yours, which is usually a shorter list than people expect.

Which brands make air intakes for the Ford Explorer?

Most of what's here for it is aFe Power. You'll find the rest in the brand row further down, so you can go straight to a name you already trust.
