aFe Power performance parts

3307 products

If you drive a BMW, aFe is probably the first intake you looked at, and the Momentum is why. It's sealed, with a molded housing that replaces your factory airbox and a window so you can see the filter. The older turbo engines are the fitments people search hardest.

About aFe Power performance parts

Driving something Japanese instead? Takeda is the tuner line, built for the Civic and the WRX and the rest of what the Momentum never reached. Want an exhaust to go with it? Mach Force is for the European cars and Takeda for the tuner ones, and they're both stainless.

aFe builds in Corona, California, and it publishes a dyno sheet for most intakes rather than a vague claim, which is more than most of this industry does. There's a Control line of bars and springs too, if you're working on the chassis rather than the engine.

Common questions

What is the difference between aFe Momentum and Takeda intakes
Coverage and housing. Momentum is sealed, with a molded housing and a window, and it's built for the BMW and European cars first. Takeda is the tuner line for the Japanese and Korean cars, usually a heat shield with a polished tube. Either way you're picking a filter, oiled or dry.
Does an aFe intake need a tune
Not on most cars. aFe builds these to work with your stock tune, and it publishes a dyno sheet showing the gain on the stock calibration, which is more honest than most of this industry manages. A tune adds more on a turbo car, and that's where the real money is anyway.
Pro 5R or Pro DRY S filter
Pro 5R is the oiled cotton one. A little more airflow, and it wants cleaning and re oiling every so often. Pro DRY S is dry, cleans with soap and water, and it's the safer choice on a car with a mass airflow sensor that oil can foul. Running a daily? Take the dry one.
