Building a Mustang or a Charger? Then you already know Nitto, and the NT555 G2 is why. It's the summer tire in the wide sizes those cars run, at a price that leaves something in the budget for the wheels themselves. Driving it harder than that? The NT05 is the step up.

About Nitto tires

Going to the strip instead? The NT555RII is the drag radial, and the NT01 is the DOT track tire if it's a road course. Daily driving it? The Motivo 365 is the all season, and the Invo is the one for a luxury sedan on big wheels. The Grappler truck line lives on our off road site.

Nitto builds the NT555 G2 in the wide rear sizes a staggered Mustang needs, which is why you'll see it under so many of them. Pick your car and the sizes narrow to what your wheel width takes with the overall diameter held near stock.

Common questions

NT555 G2 or NT05 for a Mustang GT
Take the NT05 if the car gets driven hard or sees a track day. Softer compound, stiffer sidewall, more grip in the dry. The NT555 G2 is the street tire, quieter and longer wearing and cheaper, and it's what's under most Mustangs that get used as dailies. Both come in the wide sizes a staggered set needs.
Is the Nitto NT555RII a street tire
It's DOT legal and that's about the extent of it. It's a drag radial with a soft compound and almost no tread, built to hook on a prepped surface. It wears fast on the street and it's genuinely dangerous in the rain. Run it on a second set of rear wheels and swap it on at the track.
