Borla sells sound in three sizes and lets you pick which one you want to live with. Touring is the quiet one, deeper than stock with no drone. S Type is the middle and it's what most people end up buying. ATAK is for when you want the neighbors to know you left.

About Borla performance parts

Every system is T-304 stainless, the grade that doesn't rust out on you, and Borla stands behind it with a million mile warranty. Is your stock mid pipe fine? Then an axle back swaps the mufflers and tips and saves you money. A cat back replaces everything from the converter back.

Each kit is built for one car and one engine, so the S Type for a 5.0 Mustang isn't the S Type for the EcoBoost. Pick your car and you'll see what's built for it with the sound level on each. Most bolt to the factory hangers with the clamps in the box, and it's an afternoon on a lift.

Common questions

What is the difference between Borla ATAK, S Type and Touring
Volume. Touring is the quietest, a bit deeper than stock with no drone. S Type gets loud under throttle and settles down at cruise. ATAK is aggressive under throttle and you'll hear it on the highway. Same stainless and same warranty across all three, so you're really just buying decibels.
Does Borla ATAK drone on the highway
Some, on some cars. It's built to be loud, and on a V8 with cylinder deactivation it can hum at cruise. Borla tunes each system to keep that down. If drone is the thing you're trying to avoid, buy the S Type, and if you want none of it at all, buy the Touring.
Cat back or axle back Borla exhaust
Axle back if your stock mid pipe already flows well and you want the sound for less money and an easier install. Cat back if you want the whole system and the small power gain with it. On most Mustangs and Camaros the axle back gets you most of the sound. On a turbo four, that's where the difference lives.
