BC Racing is the coilover people buy when they want adjustability without a KW price, and the BR series is the kit. Every BR kit has 30 clicks of combined compression and rebound damping, full length height adjustment that lowers the car without eating the shock travel, and pillow ball top mounts with camber adjustment on the strut cars. It is the coilover most Civic, WRX, 350Z and Mustang owners start with.
The BR is a monotube damper, and BC builds it for a specific car with rates picked for that chassis. The Extreme Low option lowers the range further for a stance build, and BC will build a kit with custom spring rates or Swift springs on request, which is how a lot of track cars end up on a BR rather than a more expensive kit. Above the BR sit the DS, RM inverted monotube, ER with external reservoirs and the three way ZR.
The catch with any coilover is that the drop changes the wheel fitment. A BR kit set two inches down pulls the fender over the tire, and a wheel that fit at stock height rubs. Pick your car, then pick the lowered suspension state in the fitment check so the wheel set is checked at the drop you plan to run.
Common questions
Are BC Racing BR coilovers good for daily driving
Yes, and that is the honest reason they sell. Set the damping in the middle of the 30 clicks and the ride on most cars is close to a sport package, firmer than stock and not harsh. Set it full stiff and it is a track car. The spring rates BC picks per car are on the street side of the range, and a Swift spring upgrade smooths the ride further.
How low do BC Racing BR coilovers go
It depends on the car, and BC publishes the range for each kit. Most BR kits adjust from around stock height to two or three inches lower, using a threaded lower mount so the drop does not use up shock travel. The Extreme Low option goes further for a stance build. The product page for your car lists the range BC publishes.
Do BC Racing coilovers come with camber plates
On the strut cars, yes. BR kits for a MacPherson strut front end (Civic, WRX, Mustang, 3 Series) come with pillow ball top mounts that adjust camber. Cars with a double wishbone or multilink front end get a fixed top mount, since the camber adjusts in the arms. The product page for your car says which one it ships with.
